    Jim Stinnett is a faculty member at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. He was Mike Gordon’s first bass mentor, having been introduced to him by his high school jazz band’s guest conductor, Diego Poprokovich. Stinnett sat in with Phish on 12/29/95 at the Worcester Centrum, performing a bass duet with Mike that featured a special arrangement by Mike of Bach’s “3rd Brandenburg Concerto” and led in to the classic ZZ Top cover, “La Grange.” Today, in addition to teaching, Stinnett produces and arranges albums, performs around the world, and promotes instructional materials.
